Frank Houtstra, Director

At the age of 14, I rode my first lap around Lake IJssel from Groningen on my paper-round bike, and from that moment on, I was hooked by the cycling bug. I read Wim Dussel’s book “Wat heb ik nu aan mijn fiets hangen” countless times — about a group who cycled “coast to coast” across America in 1976. After finishing my studies in 1992, I accidentally came across a job opening at the Fietsvakantiewinkel, and as it turned out… the owners had taken part in that very same legendary cycling adventure. It was meant to be! My first job became my dream job: working together with a fantastic team, full of joy and confidence in the future!

Erik Andrea, Office Manager

As an 11-year-old boy I went by bike with my father from Deventer to our holiday home on the Lemelerberg. From then on, I was definitely devoted to the bicycle. During and after my studies, as an amateur cyclist, I have already seen a lot of the world by bicycle. After working in the cruise world for 5 years, the opportunity passed for me to be busy with my great passion again in my work: cycling! In a dedicated team I try to compile and purchase the most beautiful trips for you. I cycled myself at many of our destinations, so you have questions, do not hesitate and call or email.

Elleke Haarman, Teamleader Back-Office

Travelling is a great passion of mine which is why I chose to study tourism. After working at several large tour operators, I joined the small and friendly team at Dutch Bike Tours. I like action-packed holidays myself so this job fits me like a glove. What I enjoy most about the work is the variety of activities and being in touch with people from different countries. Moreover, I like being able to contribute to carefree holidays where people can find out how much fun it is to see the Netherlands by bike.

Ivanka Klein, Teamleader Sales

After finishing my tourism studies in 2016, I immediately started working in the travel industry. Since then, my passion for travel has only grown. Going on holiday myself is already fantastic, but being able to work with travel every day is absolutely amazing! That’s exactly what I get to do together with the fun and friendly team at Dutch Bike Tours. I find great satisfaction in helping people find their perfect cycling holiday. During my own vacations, I also like to stay active and explore. Europe, in particular, has so much to offer — I’m happy to help you find a trip that fits your wishes perfectly!

Tine Hofmans

After completing my tourism studies, I spent six months working abroad. After those wonderful months, it was time to return to the Netherlands. Dutch Bike Tours — familiar to me from my internship in 2012 — crossed my path again. I immediately thought: I can’t let this opportunity pass by! What I enjoy most is working with people from different nationalities and discovering which trip best suits each traveler. When I’m on holiday myself, I love exploring and discovering new things besides relaxing.

Lara Matteuzzi

Born and raised in Florence, I have always had the desire to travel and discover new places and cultures since I was a child. In 2022, I spent seven months in the Netherlands for a work experience at Dutch Bike Tours and fell in love with the country. In September 2023, I returned — this time to stay — and became part of the Dutch Bike Tours family. I truly believe there’s no better way to explore the Netherlands than by bike! You experience the country completely and see it from a whole new perspective. Often, you discover those charming hidden spots off the beaten path that you wouldn’t find when visiting big cities.

Annick Houtstra

After graduating from hotel management school, and driven by my passion for travel, I started working in the cruise industry. After three years at sea, I thought it would be nice to work on land again. Tourism and travel have always fascinated me, so I decided to join Dutch Bike Tours. As a child, I often went on cycling holidays with my family. Now I organize cycling holidays for our travelers with great pleasure!

Brando Kruijer

I’ve been working in the holiday industry since my teenage years. I started as an activity leader/entertainer and studied sports and exercise. After completing my studies, I worked as a snowboard instructor and continued doing animation work during the summer. I loved it — and even had the opportunity to work at a summer camp in the USA. After that experience, I joined a major travel company as a tour guide in Austria and Portugal. Eventually, I returned to the Netherlands, where I now have my own home and work for Dutch Bike Tours. I really enjoy helping people find exactly what they’re looking for and offering them a trip that suits them perfectly. I’m always up for a chat, so feel free to call or write — I’d love to hear from you!

Gaby van de Geer

Hello, I’m Gaby van de Geer, and since 2023 I’ve been working at Dutch Bike Tours. After being a self-employed entrepreneur in the bicycle industry for 25 years, it was time for a new challenge. How great is it to turn your hobby into your profession! After years of going on cycling holidays with my partner, I now try to help people find a cycling holiday that suits them perfectly!

Arianne Verspuij

After many travels and wanderings, I returned to the travel world — and it feels like coming home. For me, traveling has always been more than just visiting destinations; it’s a way to connect with nature, find peace, and recharge.
My heart lies with active travel: walking through quiet landscapes, smelling the pine forests, reaching a viewpoint after a challenging climb — those are the moments that inspire me and bring balance. I love sharing my enthusiasm for nature and movement with our travelers, contributing to their active lifestyle, and helping them experience an unforgettable journey.

Bertine Bielderman

How brilliant and special they can be: cycling trips. It’s about 8 years ago, that I started going on bike adventures myself with friends in the North of Spain and South of France. I love the simplicity of moving by bike through nature, the sense of freedom it gives me and the surprises along the way - sharing and making special memories together. When nature, great food and culture/art come together in a trip, that’s my kind of cream on the cherry cake. After many years in Spain I am back in The Netherlands to re-discover it all. I am excited and can’t think of a better base to be than Dutch Bike Tours. Feel free to give me a call, I’m happy to join you in the planning of your next special adventure!

Rene Noordhoek

Since childhood, I have loved discovering the world by bike. First close to home, later with a tent on the back and enjoying the freedom of cycling. Before a trip, I liked to spend many hours over maps to come up with beautiful routes. I still do, only now I write those routes not on paper but on digital maps and take them with me as GPS track on my GPS device. The paper map still goes with me though, as backup and inspiration! At one point, I was able to turn my hobby into my job, coming up with new routes for travel companies, keeping existing routes up to date and making them even more beautiful and providing clients with GPS tracks. After creating their new Amsterdam-Paris trip, I joined DBT (and colleagues from Fietsrelax and Belgium Biketours) in 2018: a small, enthusiastic group of people who want to provide customers with a wonderful cycling holiday in the Netherlands and its surroundings.
